From September 22nd until September 27th Marina Izola is going to host the traditional, 8th, Izola Boat Show. Because of it's ideal timing in September Izola Boat Show is becoming more and more popular with exhibitors as well as visitors in this part of the region and has big emphesis on boat and yacht sales. Regardless of the current situaion September is still the best time to order a new vessel.

Organizing Committee is well aware of the sitaution in nautical industry, wich is most certanly one of the industries, that has been severely affected by the global financial crysis. Therefore they have prepared numerous benifits for exhibitors and for visitors, because they not only wish to keep the Boat Show afloat, but also to enrich it and give it new potentials. The benifits are mostly shown in exhibition space costs and ticket price, wich are lower then previous years. With these benifits Organizing Committee wishes to encourage as many exhibitors as possible to come and put their product on display. With low ticket prices they wish to attract as many visitors as possible.

Izola Boat Show as an event is an important contribution to the happening on Slovenian Coast each fall, because it offers many accompanying events such as concerts, parties, presentations and related events, that diversifies visit to the Boat Show. 

On display

Like previous years Izola Boat Show will host the most prestigious brands of new and used sailing- and motoryachts, nautical equipment, nautical fashion and literature. All together around 200 boats are expected to be on display this year in their natural habitat as well as in dry exhebition space, wich is already almost fully reserved. Some of the yachts, we will be able to see at Izola boat Show: semidisplacment yacht Alaska 53, novelty in Slovenian market, Italian yacht Absolute 52, Norwegian Windy 58 zephyros and Saga 315, Danish sailboat Xc-42Turkish Vicem 34, Polish Cobra 33 and Swedish Najad 440. There will be an important European premiere of our domestic shipyard Elan – sailboat Elan 310, among Slovenian novelties, we will be able to see a new inflatable boat Syndre 780 and first Hybrid motoryacht, Seaway's Greenline 33.

This is just some of the vessels, that will be on display at Izola Boat Show 2009.

In the covered part of the Boat Show we will be able to see newest techical improvements, sports gear and electronic nautical equipment and witness presentations of some new projects. In this part of the fair we will be able to take the models of the official car of Izola Boat Show, prestigious brand BMW for a test drive and enjoy the stability and safety that offers BMW's intelligent four wheel drive xDrive.

During Izola Boat Show 2009 there will be a Best Boat of the fair election via SMS. The election and vote status will be monitored and updated on radio stations Capris and Hit.

 Emphesys on accompanying events

This year Organizing Committee is going to put lots of effort to accompanying events. Throughout the week there will be various presentations, debates on current issues in nautical industry and ecology. There will also be lots of sporting events such as Slovenian Cup regatta and newborn monotype Seascape18 regatta. Slovenian olympian sailor Vasilij Žbogar is going to present his official webpage, there will also be a presentation of a new web portal, dedicated to tourism on Adriatic called AdriaLog. com.

In Izola center square Lonka there will be a photo exchibition called Life of Dolphins and humpback whale, presented by Morigenos and listen to lecture about the life od Dolphins in Slovenian sea.

Sailor Marko Murn is going to let us in on the beauties of Turkish coast, wich he saw from the deck of his sailboat and on Saturday slovenian sports legend Miran Tepeš is going to tell us a bit about his Sailing around the World.   

A special presentation of Polish nautical industry and tourism will be held on Saturday, prepared by Polish embassy. In the town center there will be an exhibition of fisherman skills, winery, the art of olive growing, artists and Handicraft.

 We will also be able listen to some concerts, such as friday night concert of Croatian celebrity Gibonni with group Iskon in Simon's Bay and Perpetuum Jazzile concert in center square on saturday night. Both concerts will have an afterparty in The Club Belvedere. 

Last year 25.000 people visited Izola Boat Show and accompanying events. This year's plans and predictions are about the same, but they belive, that the number can be exeeded, as the potential of the event was also seen by old sponsors as well as numerous new ones. Izola Boat Show is a great event in terms of promotion of Izola itself, Slovenian Coast and wider region.

This year Organizing Committee is preparing even more events then previous years, so we can safely say, that in eight years Izola Boat Show has grown to be an important event and a nautical holiday on Slovenian coast. 

During Izola Boat Show 2009 two press conferences will be held. One od the opening day  and another the last day of Izola Boat Show 2009, where we will draw the line under the eight traditional Izola Boat Show.
