More then a boat show

Marina Izola is hosting the traditional, 8th, Izola Boat Show from September 22 until September 27th.

Because of ideal timing in September and  emphasis on boat and yacht sales rather then just exhibition Izola Boat Show is becoming more and more popular with exhibitors as well as visitors in the region. The fact that September is the most appropriate time to order a vessel for the next season has convinced many of exhibitors to attend the fair despite current unfavorable conditions on the market.

 

Organizers have successfully adapted to current situation and against all odds managed to maintain the number of exhibitors as previous year which was a record one. The number of different brands on display was even exceeded. 

 

Novelties

Like previous years Izola Boat Show is hosting the most prestigious brands of new and used sailing- and motor yachts, nautical equipment, nautical fashion and literature.

 

Among numerous novelties and premieres, most of them are from Slovenian producers.

Fast and luxurious inflatable boat Syndre 780 of Slovenian boat builder Fanell was presented already on the opening day.

 

In the following days there will be a premiere presentation of a new performance cruiser sailboat, Elan 310 and the first hybrid motor vessel Greenline 33, which is a result of cooperation between Slovenian yacht design studio Seaway, numerous other Slovenian companies and Volkswagen Marine.

 

Some of the novelties from abroad, presented at Izola Boat Show 2009 are Italian Dominator and Absolute, Swedish Najad 440,  Norwegian Windy 58 zephyros, German Hanse 400,  Polish Cobra 33 and others.

 

The largest yachts on display at Izola Boat Show 2009 exceed 80 feet in length!

 

Izola Boat Show presents also several technical improvements in sports gear and electronic nautical equipment.

 

Visitors of the show have the opportunity to take the models of the official car of Izola Boat Show, prestigious BMW for a test drive and enjoy the stability and safety of BMW's intelligent four wheel drive xDrive.

 

Emphasis on accompanying events

 

Izola Boat Show as an event is an important contribution to the happening on Slovenian Coast each fall, because it offers many accompanying events such as concerts, parties, presentations and related events, that diversifies visit to the Boat Show. 

Throughout the week there will be various presentations, debates on current issues in nautical industry and ecology. There will be also many sporting events such as Slovenian Cup regatta and monotype Seascape18 regatta.

 

Slovenian Olympic bronze medalist Vasilij Žbogar is going to present his new official webpage.

Visitors will be able to enjoy exhibition called Life of Dolphins and humpback whale, presented by Morigenos in Izola center square Lonka.

 

Sailor Marko Murn is going to let us in on the beauties of Turkish coast, which he saw from the deck of his sailboat and on Saturday Slovenian sports legend Miran Tepeš is will tell us a bit about his Sailing around the World.   

 

Polish Embassy will host a special presentation of Polish nautical industry and tourism on Saturday. In the town center there will be an exhibition of fisherman skills, winery, the art of olive growing and other artists and craftsmen.

 

Two concerts will be organized. On friday evening the guests will be able to enjoy music of Croatian pop star Gibonni with group Iskon in Simon's Bay and Perpetuum Jazzile concert in Izola town square on Saturday night. Both concerts will have an after party in The Club Belvedere. 

 

Last year 25.000 people visited Izola Boat Show and accompanying events. This year's plans and predictions are about the same or more. In eight years Izola Boat Show has grown to be an important event and a nautical holiday on Slovenian coast. 

 

 

Two press conferences will be held during Izola Boat Show 2009, one on the opening day and the second on the last day of Izola Boat Show 2009.
